What communications can I receive?

Once you’ve signed up to Join Dementia Research, there are a variety of different ways you can choose to hear from us:

General updates and newsletter

If you sign up to our mailing list, we’ll try our best to keep you updated without bombarding you with emails. You’ll receive our newsletter rounding up our latest news, as well as the occasional survey invitation or service update.

Study alerts

Study alerts are a great way to make sure you never miss a potential study. If you have ticked the option to receive alerts, you’ll receive an email every time there’s a new study you might be able to take part in.

Contact with study teams

Once you match to a study and register your interest in taking part, you might be contacted directly by the team doing the research to explain more about the study. You can use your account settings to choose whether you’d most like this initial contact to be by phone, letter or email.

How do I change what I receive?

It’s up to you how you choose to hear from us. You can use your account to manage your settings, and you can change your settings at any time.

How can I remove myself from Join Dementia Research?

We hope that you’ll enjoy being part of Join Dementia Research, but if you decide that you no longer wish to remain registered with the service, you or your loved ones can contact us and we will remove you from the system.

Once you do this, all of your identifiable information will be removed and future researchers will not be able to search for you. Please note that your data will be anonymised rather than deleted.

We’re working to make this process even easier – look out for more updates soon.

You can also contact us on behalf of someone who has passed away.
