Join Dementia Research is 7 years old!
As we mark 7 years of matching volunteers with researchers, we’d like to celebrate some of the highlights from the past year:
- Since the service began, there have been over 60,000 enrolments onto studies through Join Dementia Research, that’s an increase of 12,000 in the last year.
- Join Dementia Research volunteers played a key role in the US and Europe decisions about the Alzheimer’s drug aducanumab, because 30% of the participants on UK clinical trials came through Join Dementia Research. And there are many other dementia drug studies in development, so there is reason to be optimistic and plenty of opportunities to get involved.
- We launched the first phase of our new look website in response to user feedback, one of the notable features is the callback function which enables people to request a callback from one of our charity partners. Simply complete the form and we’ll call you back within ten working days and three attempts to contact you will be made.
- We heard from volunteers Maureen and Derek and Stan about the reasons why they signed up to take part in dementia studies.
Thank you to all our volunteers, carers, healthcare professionals, charity partners and everyone in the Join Dementia Research community for making this another positive year for dementia research.
