By 2025, over 1 million people will have dementia in the UK. With your help, we can beat it.

Join Dementia Research is giving people a chance to sign up to take part in studies across the UK. Through research we’ll be able to introduce new treatments, improve early diagnosis and quality of care and hopefully one day we’ll get closer to beating it.

When you sign up with us, your information will be saved, so researchers can find people for their studies. It’s like a matchmaking service, where we connect you with researchers. It’s easy to sign up. You can visit our website and fill in some details there. Or, if it’s easier, you can call one of the charity helplines. You can even sign up on behalf of someone else if that helps. And don’t forget you don’t need to have dementia to take part. We need healthy volunteers too, for example to have a better understanding of how dementia develops.

Now you’re all signed up it’s over to you. There’s lots you can do online, from checking the types of studies that you might be suitable for, keeping your information up to date or expressing interest in a particular study. And when a study comes up that’s right for you, a researcher will be in contact to give you more information and see if you want to take part.  Sometimes they’ll find you in a week, or a month, and for others, it can take a bit longer.

There’s lots of different kinds of research activities you could get involved in… from filling in a questionnaire… to visiting a support group… to having a blood test or taking a new form of medication. So if you fancy being part of something special, register with us today. Or call one of our help lines.

Help beat dementia. Sign up today for yourself or on behalf of someone else.
