Join Dementia Research reaches 20,000 registrations
Join Dementia Research have hit a key milestone with over 20,000 now signed up to the service since launching a year ago.
The thousands of volunteers who have already registered are a mix of people who have been diagnosed with dementia, carers of people with dementia and healthy members of the public who want to help push dementia research forward.
Join Dementia Research matches volunteers with vital studies in all areas of dementia research. To date, over 90 studies have recruited using the service but more volunteers are always needed to sign up and take part in studies and trials across the UK.
Yun Hwang is a Clinical Research Associate for a study that has recently reached it’s sign-up target called The Effect of Donepezil on TMS in Alzheimer’s Disease. Yun said:
“I was able to complete the recruitment for an arm of my study in a very short time period, thanks to Join Dementia Research.
“All the volunteers were recruited through the website, with nearly half the participants specifically expressing interest in my study in a 4 day period! This would not have been possible without the Join Dementia Research service”.
