24 Days Meme V1Continuing #24DaysOfDementiaResearch, we are focusing on research into medication that could be used to successfully treat Mild Cognitive Impairment.

This study, and many others, are available on ‘Join dementia research’ – a new online service that allows volunteers to discover and participate in dementia research studies around the country.

Aims of the Study

This study aims to test a new medication (MK8931) in the treatment of Mild Cognitive Impairment.

This medication acts to reduce the levels of a brain protein called amyloid, which is known to build up in excessive amounts in those with, or at risk of, Alzheimer’s disease.

The study will also measure how well people are able to tolerate the medication, and monitors for any side effects.

Get Involved

Volunteers are sought who are between 50 and 85, with mild memory problems or Mild Cognitive Impairment.

They will need to have a study ‘partner’ – a close friend or relative who can accompany the volunteer throughout the research.
